The Ultimate Jeans Edit

So according to Gen Z and recent online chatter, skinny jeans are out! Now I definitely don’t let trends define my personal style and still love my skinnies but the topic did get me thinking about how my jeans style has evolved over the last two years…

Up to this exact month last year, it was skinnies all the way and I never experimented with anything else. That was until I discovered these Mom Jeans from H&M. An absolute bargain at €22.99, they kick-started my love of a straighter leg and looser fit and I recommend them to everyone now! I’m often asked about sizing on Instagram, so for reference I am 5ft6 and take a size 8.

After I became confident with the straighter silhouette, I decided I’d buy a neutral pair next – enter the Penneys Vintage Straight. I adore these jeans and have them in three colours. The light denim wash are probably my most worn and I really need to buy a back up pair when stores re-open! I can’t remember the exact price but I’m nearly sure they are under €20.

This time last year, I bought the Topshop Ecru Straight and these have also become a staple in my wardrobe. I find them a bit of a stiffer denim so they do take breaking in. I sized up in these but went back to my regular size as they do stretch with wear. These come in lots of different denim washes too!

Another new addition to my Topshop stable is the Premium Mom Straight leg, these are a gorgeous fit – they give a lovely lift on the bum and are nice a smooth across the tummy. I have these in black and washed denim and they are the perfect pair for a ‘jeans and nice top’ look! I took my usual size in these with a 32in leg.

And taking it all the way back to skinnies, my absolute faves are the POCO Allstar (stretchy and so soft) and Topshop Jamies.
