Grey Maxi Dress…

I have always admired dresses, especially a plain and simple maxi style on others but often shy away from wearing them myself! I have this one by Sarah Pacini a good number of years and kept meaning to style it but always found it hard to get the right footwear to suit.

I took out these white runners I bought in May and remembered the day I was buying the dress, a very stylish assistant mentioned that she thought it would be fabulous worn very simply with a white vest and white trainers-I don’t own any converse ones but tried these and was surprised that I actually liked the laid back casual look:)

Now our July weather is certainly not what it should be at the minute, so I opted to layer a black basic Zara cardigan over it before going out this morning! The simplicity of the dress would suit a few other shades as would adding different accessories. I think on the whole it is quite versatile  and I’m now looking at it in a completely new light! I was originally thinking of getting the ruching effect taken off but I am afraid it may spoil the shape of the dress.
Here are a few other inspirational outfit ideas I like….
Wear with a black leather jacket and sandals and accessorize with a statement bag…
Team with coloured strappy sandals and statement jewellery-the bright turquoise scarf is also a nice summery touch….
The pop of orange colour here is actually lovely for this time of the year and matches so well also with the grey….
These are a few other grey dresses I found that might appeal to someone:)

This very simple plain racer back style is a definite bargain from Selected at Asos for €30.14

Warehouse have this gorgeous midi style plait strap which is new in and I am also loving the side splits…

A sporty light jersey vest style from Esprit at Asos
Love this Sofia grey jersey number on sale from Iris And Ink at the The Outnet
I hope you are all having a good week-halfway to the weekend already!
